Notes: For the Fusion Challenge on
star_trek_flashfic, sneaking just under the West Coast wire. For
marcolette, who is a ridiculous enabling enabler. The challenge was to fuse two universe, and because I am on the crack, I fused American Idol with Star Trek XI. God help us all. Kris+Adam, PG13. Read it here or at my fic archive.

Aug. 9th, 2009 02:14 amThe challenge looked kind of sad, with only one fic. Clearly the answer is a really obscure fusion.
Title: Lose Your Cool
Fandom: Star Trek XI (fusion with Havemercy)
Rating: PG-13? Nothing to warn about.
Wordcount: 337
Summary/Notes: Spock's researching the effects of a life of being trained to be a soldier. His research subjects just want to see him snap. I dunno how much sense this will make without knowledge of Havemercy. There are metal dragons, by the way. For the fusion challenge.

Public Liability (Kirk/Sulu, Pike)
Aug. 6th, 2009 10:16 pmPublic Liability
Fandom: Star Trek (fusion with Heroes)
Characters: Kirk/Sulu, Pike
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: 1229
Disclaimer: Star Trek is owned by Paramount; Heroes is owned by Universal. In either case, I lay claim to none of these characters; no infringment intended.
Story elements: (skip) Warning for mild accidental but kinda-graphic injury in a non-sexual context. (warning policy)
Summary: It's the 23rd century; heroes aren't exactly walking the streets. Some of them are busy turning tricks and getting into bar fights, and there's an enterprise out there trying to make sure they don't give themselves away. Or, in other words: Star Trek (reboot) meets Heroes, with the trademark invincible character and a double-team of "one of us, one of them".
Notes: For the fusion challenge on
star_trek_flashfic. This desperately wants to be a much, much longer story involving the whole cast, and I swear, when I have time to write something long, I'm going there. For now, though, I wanted to get this out before the challenge closed!
The title comes from the following quote by Richard E. Byrd: A static hero is a public liability. Progress grows out of motion.
( ''He's been here the past three nights. Anything happens tonight and people are going to start to notice.'' )

The Fusion Challenge
So what if the entire TNG crew was at Hogwarts? Or what if Kira Nerys was a Slayer? How about Kirk, Spock, Sulu and Uhura as a 'gate team with the SGC?
Conversely, what if Sam and Dean were the Enterprise's beta shift pilot and navigator? What kind of adventures could Captain John Sheppard, First Officer McKay and the rest of the crew of the USS Atlantis get up to?
A fusion is not a crossover, so this isn't about John and Rodney suddenly finding themselves on the Enterprise D, or Kirk and Spock needing Sam and Dean's help to get back to their own universe. This is about either Trek Characters always having been in another fandom's universe, or charcters from another fandom always having been in any of the Trek universes.
Any questions? Ask 'em here! :)
You have until August 9.
